Practice controlling, rethought. Your billing before the statement.
Billed services by billing type, location, practitioner and code – straight from your practice management system, with nothing to export.
The first look in the morning
Revenue since the start of the quarter, month by month against the same month a year earlier. Comparing with the previous quarter sets spring against summer – only the same months a year ago show whether something has really shifted.
Revenue since the start of the quarter, with the curve beside it. The number says where your practice stands; the curve says how it got there.
What is left after all expenses, again with the curve. The figure that counts at year end, visible in the middle of the quarter rather than in the annual accounts.
Weekly revenue as a matrix across practitioners and weekdays: you see where this week's revenue is coming from. Strong days and gaps stand out without anyone running a report.
Money in, money out and the balance between them, brought together from every connected bank account. No export, no retyping, no spreadsheet for someone to maintain.
Team availability as a percentage, with the share of available days and a button to record absences right there. The basis for planning consulting hours realistically rather than optimistically.
Your billing, before the fee notice arrives
The billing analysis breaks revenue down by billing type into stacked weekly bars. If the share of statutory billing or private billing shifts, you see it during the quarter – not in the fee notice.
Revenue, cases and value per case side by side for each practitioner. Meant as the basis for a fair assessment in group practices and medical care centers, not as a leaderboard for the wall.
One line per practitioner across the whole quarter. Holidays, onboarding and outliers appear as a kink in the curve rather than a footnote.
Revenue, patient visits and cases, each with the change against the previous quarter. Three metrics that together say whether the quarter holds.
Where your patients come from – and what stays
Movement in the patient base as rings: how many patients were new, how many came back and how many did not appear again this quarter.
The average value per case, separated into statutory, accident insurance and private. The gap between billing types is usually wider than the gap between two quarters.
What a single patient visit brings in on average, across the quarters. If the figure falls while case numbers hold, the cause is in the services and not in utilization.
From billing type through case type to practitioner: a flow picture of how patients move through your practice. The view that explains the most at once.
Patient numbers, visits per patient and value per case. Together they say whether your practice's patient base is growing or merely rotating.
What an hour of practice costs – and brings in
Revenue and cost per hour for each practitioner in one picture. The distance between them is what is left at the end.
The contribution margin of each position after its own cost – the hardest number in the Practice Manager. Uncomfortably precise, and useful for exactly that reason.
How much of the planned working time was actually available – and what the difference consists of: holiday, sickness and training, shown separately.
Revenue per hour, staff cost per hour and the contribution margin in between. Three figures that in most practices have never stood side by side.
Down to the individual billing code
Which code was billed how often, what it yields on average and what share of your practice's fee income it carries. Breaks down to case and practitioner level.
The conditions for the standby allowance checked one by one: what already follows from your billing data, what you have to confirm yourself and what is still outstanding. Instead of a yes-or-no answer at quarter end, a list that runs alongside.
The service list sets delivered and billed services side by side, line by line. What is missing in between is fee income that would otherwise stay on the table – and it shows up while something can still be done about it.
Codes billed, how often, and the average yield – the way into your range of services before the detail.

How practices work today
The statistics built into your practice management system

- Rigid reports that cannot be adjusted
- Usable only inside a single system
Home-made spreadsheets and other systems

- Error-prone, time-consuming and dependent on one person
- Hard to scale as you grow
Waiting for the fee notice
- Arrives months after the quarter ends
- Purely retrospective, no steering effect
- No connection to your operational practice data

Frequently asked questions
What does the MediPulse Practice Manager cost?
The Practice Manager costs €149 per month with quarterly billing for up to three full-time physicians (€139 annually, €159 monthly), plus VAT, rising by €50 per additional full-time physician up to €499 for 10; above 10 physicians the Enterprise plan applies with individual terms. No installation fee, cancellable monthly, free to try for 30 days. All plans: medipulse.de/en/pricing.
Which practice KPIs does the Practice Manager show?
Revenue development since the start of the quarter against the same month of the previous year, quarterly revenue and the surplus in the current quarter with their trend, weekly revenue by practitioner and weekday, inflows and outflows from all connected bank accounts, staff availability, revenue by billing type (KV, HZV, BG, private) and revenue, cases and case value per practitioner. The figures come automatically from the practice management system and bank accounts, with no export and no spreadsheet anyone has to maintain.
How does statutory billing in Germany work?
For patients with statutory insurance, practices bill their services quarterly through the statutory health insurance association (KV), on the basis of the national fee schedule (EBM). Payment follows with a delay, and the final fee notice (Honorarbescheid) often arrives months later. The Practice Manager makes the billed services transparent well before that.
Can I check my statutory billing before the fee notice arrives?
Yes. MediPulse reconciles your billed services automatically against the data in your practice management system and shows discrepancies or missing billing codes before the fee notice arrives – backed up by the free billing-code check.
How do I spot unclaimed fee potential?
By reconciling the services delivered against the services billed, the Practice Manager makes unbilled or incomplete billing codes visible. That way you find fees that would otherwise be left on the table.
Can I analyze services per practitioner and location?
Yes. For each practitioner and location you see which services were delivered and billed – down to billing-code level. That is the basis for a fair assessment of performance in group practices and medical care centers.
What is a practice management system (PVS) or physician information system (AIS)?
Both terms describe the same software: the program your practice uses to manage, document and bill for patients. Common systems in Germany are CGM MEDISTAR, TURBOMED and ALBIS, medatixx and x.isynet, tomedo, T2med, MEDICAL OFFICE and DURIA. MediPulse reads the billing and service data out of your system; which connection is possible is something we clarify together before you start.
Do I have to switch practice management systems?
No. MediPulse does not replace your practice management system (PVS, also called an AIS). It reads the billing and service data through a secure interface and analyzes it. The system you are used to stays exactly where it is.
What sets MediPulse apart from the statistics in my practice management system?
Those built-in statistics are usually rigid, confined to the system and impossible to filter. MediPulse connects your practice management system and your bank accounts, analyzes in real time, filters down to billing-code, case and practitioner level, and shows the direct comparison with the previous year.
Is patient data transferred?
No personal data. The Practice Manager reads billing and service data from your practice management system: billing codes, diagnoses (ICD codes), case numbers, billing type, location and provider. Patients appear solely as a pseudonymized identifier – names and contact details stay in your system.
What if my practice management system is not connected yet?
Then we will tell you straight. Not every vendor offers the same interface, and new systems are added continuously. Tell us which system you use before the appointment – we will check it and tell you what works today and what does not. The Finance Manager works from your bank accounts alone and is independent of this.
How quickly is the Practice Manager ready to use?
In a few minutes: MediPulse is integrated into your existing setup of practice management system and bank via secure interfaces – with no IT project.
